Encore Theatre Company March 2020
2020 is off to a crazy start for Encore Theatre Company. Tuesday’s with Morrie was an overwhelming success. All shows were sold out and we even added an additional show. Big thanks to Peter and Susan Thompson who produced and directed it, Dean Schaan and Rodger Rossman – the stars, Andy Montero and his folks for providing the food and all the backstage folks that made this a success.
Then came Cotton Patch Gospel. We had a good turnout for auditions, but, unfortunately, we couldn’t put a bluegrass band together, so the board decided to cancel the show.
After making that decision, the board decided to move our June dinner theater from the Encore building to the Maguire Theater. The dates are June 11, 12, 13, 14. There will be two shows on the 13th. Matinees will be on the 13th and 14th. The show is entitled Briefs and Shorts and will be a presentation of several short plays. We are hoping to introduce new actors and directors during this run. We are currently exploring having two-tiered pricing for this production a dinner theater: one for the meal and a lower price for balcony seating. Stay tuned.
If you like to try your hand at directing, please contact Amanda Brannon at amandabrannon29@gmail.com for more information. When our audition schedule is finalized, it will be posted on our webpage, encoretheatre.org, as well as the calendar in the Daily Advance
