Charity
Charity, a word so sweet
But in this world, it’s hard to meet The rich hold it close to their chest Leaving the poor to suffer without rest
The underclass, trapped in debt No way out; can’t escape yet The consolation of wealth clouds the mind Leaves the poor behind every time
We talk of charity, of helping hand But the rich don’t understand Their pockets lined, they turn away Ignoring the cries of those who pray
For a little bit of love, a little bit of care But the rich, they’re unaware Consumed by greed, they can’t see The pain of the poor, it’s plain to see
Charity, a word so grand But in this world, it’s hard to find a hand That’s willing to reach out, to give a little more To those who are struggling and feeling poor.
